Renovation and Addition
(Completed August 2015) Total Area: 160,650 square feet Construction Manager At Risk New construction designed around the existing 1,000-seat auditorium (the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra’s performance venue). Features include central project spaces that double as computer labs at the academic wings, and other specialized lab spaces for wood, metal and mechanics, biological research, digital graphics and design, and sustainable living. The project is LEED-for-Schools TM Gold Certification, with sustainable design elements in the areas of site planning, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor air quality. Efficiency measures include mechanical systems with heat recovery, digital mechanical controls, high performance thermal envelope, white roof to reduce cooling loads, and daylight strategies. |
