New Construction and Renovation
(Completed August 2016) Total Area: 160,650 square feet Construction Manager At Risk New construction designed around the existing 1,000-seat auditorium (the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra’s performance venue). Features include central project spaces that double as computer labs at the academic wings, and other specialized lab spaces for wood, metal and mechanics, biological research, digital graphics and design, and sustainable living. The project is LEED-for-Schools TM Gold Certification, with sustainable design elements in the areas of site planning, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor air quality. The project was completed in multiple phases and included complete reconstruction of the athletic complex. All fields and recreational facilities are fully MIAA Compliant. Athletic features included an eight-lane running track with synthetic surfacing and supporting infrastructure for all track and field events. Natural grass fields suitable for high school football, softball, field hockey and soccer included an extensive under-drain due to poorly draining soils. |
