Contractor: CTA Construction The Department’s current operations were assessed, and a space needs program was developed for the new facility which includes 6 double deep, drive-through apparatus bays, a maintenance bay, and a training tower. Fire operation support spaces including decontamination and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) fill equipment and related supply, overnight accommodations, and shower facilities for both male and female fire fighters, a fitness area and administrative offices. Additional support facilities include an on-site fueling station, communications tower, and vehicular maintenance areas, as well as a marine unit storage area for rescue equipment. Construction of the new facility was phased to allow the existing station to remain operational throughout construction. |
