New Construction
(February 2009) Construction Cost: $8.0 million The new 14,000-square foot center on Bearfoot Road was completed after six years of planning and development and will better serve the town’s seniors. The old senior center (on Centre Drive) had three parking spaces and one handicapped spot, compared to the new sprawling parking lot outside the new center which is more accessible. Once seniors enter the new building, which has shelves of books in the lobby, a billiards room and a patio overlooking a pond in back, they will have many more recreational and educational activities from which to choose. The sprawling facility includes an arts and crafts room, a media room and a fitness room. |
