(Occupancy: December, 2015) Construction Cost: $8,300,000 Total Area: 17,000 GSF Designer: The Carell Group, Hopkinton, MA Contractor: Hutter Construction, New Ipswich, NH The new Sudbury Police facility is located adjacent to the Sudbury Fire Headquarters, creating a municipal public safety campus. The new building is a composite steel / wood frame, with interior masonry partitions. The building resides in the Sudbury Historical District and contains many exterior period details respectful of the adjacent properties. The first floor includes a secure prisoner processing and detention area, secure evidence processing and storage, Dispatch Center, Sergeant’s Offices, Interview Rooms, The first-floor Training Room / Community Room also serves as an Emergency Operations Center. The second floor includes locker room and shower facilities for both male and female officers, as well as administrative offices and records storage areas. Unfinished attic spaces accommodate various mechanical units and long-term record storage. An exterior canopy structure created sheltered parking areas for department vehicles, and an added garage structure provides long-term vehicular and ancillary storage space for other police equipment. |
