Wilbraham Police Department
New Construction
(Opened June 2017) Construction Cost: $8,100,000 Total Area: 15,500 Designer: Tecton Architects, Hartford, CT Contractor: W.J. Mountford, South Windsor, CT The existing police station was originally constructed in 1904 and had various uses over the years including a school, town hall and eventually the police station. Due to the lack of space and functional limitations as well as a building that was beyond its useful lifespan it was in the best interest of the community to build a new building. The new station adds approximately 10,000 sq. ft. over the existing facility and includes dispatch, interview areas, decontamination facilities, records storage, secure areas with prisoner processing and detention areas, all while maintaining an efficient floor plan. The new facility incorporates modern efficient mechanical systems which will provide safe and comfortable working conditions for decades. |
